I’ll keep an up to date list of where by books can be purchased here.
TLDR
I strongly urge everyone to buy anywhere but the big sites. I know they’re convenient, but they’re also one of the world’s big problems. The print version can be ordered at any book store (or Ingram Spark claims it should be possible). For the e-book, please consider itch.io as the version there is DRM-free and far more expansive than what you get on the big sites (it includes a PDF with Table of Contents and Glossary, maps, cover art and the epub version in the form it’s available from amazon etc). It’s also easier for me to update and easier for me to include more material.
itch.io
If you want the e-book version, I recommend using itch.io. I can provide more files for the download, so it includes a pdf with the cover art, the map, a glossary and the table of contents. Cover art and map are also provided as separate files. It’s the best value by far. Furthermore, I can easily update if I find a spelling mistake or even add further goodies down the line. Lastly, they simply transfer more of the money to the author, which means more art and editors.

The Big Sites
I’ve listed all the big places where my books are currently available below. Please let me know if I missed anything. This is the traditional stuff, like Kindle, et cetera, where your money gets you the ebook only (possibly with DRM). Of course, it’s the place to get you print copy, which should be available by the 20th of November.

And a link to Goodreads because reviews are very helpful indeed.
Direct Sales
I’ve put together the neccesary infrastructure to ship books myself. It’s not particularly streamlined but as long as we can find a way to make the payment, I can ship the book anywhere where there’s mail service. For the EU, it’s list price including shipping (€20). Beyond that, it’s case by case. I do offer a discount if you order more than one book. I appreciate that that’s irrelevant to most at this point, but once I have more than one title in print (hopefully before mid-2026) it might become an interesting option.
Strange Places Where You Can’t Get It
In the course of my investigations as a first-time self-publishing author I’ve discovered some notable places where the book is not listed. Waterstones, (UK), for instance doesn’t list it. No local sites (de Kler, Kooyker, de Slegte, Bruna, libris.nl) except bol.com in the Netherlands seem to list it either. Libris is particularly puzzling as it fulfills orders for the book in Germany, which is the first place I’ve had reported paperback sales. I’ll add to this list as I discover places where it’s missing.
Comparison to the weekly version of The Half Elven Orphan
The weekly version of the ‘The Half Elven Orphan’ that’s available on this site is a snapshot of the book as it was about a year ago. I’ve been editing and integrating feedback all year and I feel the released version is a better read (and 20k words longer) than the weekly. The last section of the weekly version has become the first chapter of The Value of Nobility (Tales of Vatan, Alagariel Book Two), it’s not in the printed/e-book version. To avoid future confusion I’ll be removing the weekly version soon, probably at the end of 2025.
